We built this because agents needed identities
AI agents are everywhere now. The infrastructure for managing their credentials is not. We created Scalekix to close that gap: verified agent identities, scoped permissions, and a complete audit trail, deployed in one afternoon.
The problem we kept encountering
Before founding Scalekix, Satya spent years building credential management infrastructure for high-throughput data pipelines at two technology companies. When teams began deploying autonomous AI workers in 2024, the immediate question was always the same: which credentials should the agent receive?
The usual answer was a service account or shared developer API key. That approach made sense for batch jobs with human review. For an autonomous agent making dozens of API calls per minute, it created a blast radius nobody wanted to examine too closely.
The identity layer we needed was missing. Each team was assembling some mix of Vault, IAM roles, custom middleware, and spreadsheets to track what every agent could do. Marcus had encountered the same issue on the authorization side, creating permission middleware for distributed microservices teams that had begun adding AI agents to their pipelines.
We started Scalekix in 2025 to build the missing piece: a purpose-built layer that gives every agent its own verifiable credential, limits each action to declared permissions, and records an immutable audit trail for everything the agent does. We wanted adoption to feel as quick as adding a dependency and visibility to be as clear as reading a log.
The team building it
Background in platform security and distributed systems. Worked on credential management infrastructure for high-throughput data pipelines at two technology companies. Saw that agentic workflows lacked a dedicated identity layer as teams began deploying autonomous AI workers at scale.
Background in runtime systems and permission engine architecture. Designed authorization middleware for distributed microservices teams across organizations of 5 to 50 engineers. Focused on making permission schemas practical and auditable without adding operational overhead.
A few principles we follow
Auditable from the start
Every action an agent takes should be visible to the team that deployed it. Not as a compliance checkbox, but as the baseline for any system acting on your behalf.
Least privilege, without added friction
Giving an agent only the permissions it needs is not bureaucracy. It is the only way to understand what a system can and cannot do once it begins acting autonomously.
Quick to adopt
Security infrastructure that takes a month to integrate does not get integrated. Our target is one afternoon from signup to a gated agent in production. We use that target to evaluate every release.
Made for platform engineers
The people actually building agent infrastructure are platform and backend engineers, not security specialists. The tools they choose should fit naturally into their existing workflows and SDKs.
